Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the site owners. This policy explains how Flagpool uses cookies across our website (flagpool.io) and dashboard application.
2. Cookies We Use
| Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Authentication session, CSRF protection, and security. Required for the dashboard to function. | Session / 1 year |
| Functional | Remembering your preferences such as selected project, environment, and UI settings. | 1 year |
| Analytics | Understanding how visitors and users interact with our Service (e.g. pages visited, feature usage). We use privacy-friendly analytics and do not build advertising profiles. | Up to 2 years |
3. Flagpool SDKs & Cookies
The Flagpool SDKs do not set cookies in your end users' browsers. Flag configurations are cached using localStorage (not cookies) for offline resilience. Analytics data is sent as HTTP requests and does not involve cookies. No tracking cookies are placed on your end users through Flagpool.
4. Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. They include authentication tokens that keep you logged into the Flagpool dashboard, and security cookies that protect against cross-site request forgery.
5. Analytics Cookies
We may use third-party analytics tools across our Service to understand usage patterns such as pages visited, features used, time on site, and traffic sources. This helps us improve the product and user experience. Analytics data is collected in aggregate and is not used to build advertising profiles. Most analytics providers offer browser extensions or settings that allow you to opt out of tracking.
6. Managing Cookies
Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser
Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the Flagpool dashboard from functioning correctly.
7. Third-Party Cookies
We use third-party services that may set their own cookies in the following categories:
- Authentication providers — for secure session management and login
- Payment processors — for secure payment handling (only on billing and checkout pages)
- Analytics providers — for understanding Service usage and improving the user experience
Each provider operates under their own privacy policy. A current list of our sub-processors is available upon request at privacy@flagpool.io.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
9. Contact
If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact us at privacy@flagpool.io or visit our Contact page.
